Mayor's Message

The time has come once again to CelebrateErie! This year we have another exciting weekend planned for the Erie community and our guests, offering a wide variety of activity, food, entertainment, and fun.

CelebrateErie has something to offer for everyone. On Thursday, Taste of Erie and the Artist Colony kick off the celebration in style.  Taste of Erie showcases some of Erie’s best restaurants: Come down and enjoy some great music while also strolling through the Artist Colony where some of Erie’s finest artists have been invited to share their work. Returning to this year’s celebration is the ERIEsistible Entrée Award, which will be presented to the Taste of Erie restaurant voted to have the best dish. Ballots and ballot boxes will be located around the Taste of Erie tents.  Also returning this year is a celebration of local culture and diversity which will occur at the corner of South Park Row and State Street. The Kid’s Zone is packed with family-friendly games and activities as usual. Be sure to view all the amazing artist work displayed on the streets in our Chalkwalk. Multiple stages allow us to capitalize on the abundance of local talent. The Taste of Erie stage, located in Perry Square, and the 10th Street stage, will feature a wide range of local musicians. The Main Stage will showcase Here Come the Mummies on Thursday, funky music from Thomas McClary, the co-founder of The Commodores, rock and roll great, Randy Bachman, playing the hits of The Guess Who and Bachman-Turner Overdrive on Saturday, and the final night of the event showcases the country sounds of Frankie Ballard.  Following Sunday’s performance, head down to Dobbin’s Landing to enjoy the world famous Zambelli fireworks, wrapping up the event!

CelebrateErie would not be possible without the tremendous support of our event sponsors.  Their generosity helps to produce a wide range of activities that occur throughout the weekend.  We would also like to show appreciation to our dedicated volunteers who breathe life into each event associated with CelebrateErie. They truly help us to pull everything together.

I am proud to be the Mayor of such an extraordinary community. Let’s take some time to CelebrateErie! Enjoy the weekend!
